Herbal Teas to Neutralize Stomach Acidity

Everyone has at some point in their lives suffered from acidity problems and it can be extremely discomforting. Stomach acidity occurs when the stomach leaks into the oesophagus, meaning excessive secretion of acids through the gastric glands of the stomach – a condition known as acid reflux or acidity. This condition also leads to heartburn or stomach pain. However, it can be treated and here are some herbal teas which can help you with exactly that. Ginger Tea 

Ginger is one of the healthiest spices in the world and is loaded with healthy nutrients and bioactive compounds that are beneficial for the body and the brain. One of the many benefits ginger offers is that it calms the stomach down. It also improves digestion and prevents acidity symptoms. 

Crush a small piece of ginger and mix it in a cup of boiled water. It is ready to drink. Also, you can add milk to your preference. However, you must drink in moderation as too much ginger can lead to stomach irritation and other problems.

Lemon Balm Tea 

Lemon balm tea has numerous properties to fight stomach related problems and acidity is one of them. To eliminate the problem, you must drink it right after your meals.

Other Tips to Help with Acidity 

Eat Greens: Green vegetables are alkaline and will keep away acidic gases. So, prefer eating veggies than junk. 

Low Intake of Acidic Foods: Avoid eating acidic foods such as white flour, refined sugar, eggs, dairy, etc. It will only lead to acidic problems accompanied by other stomach-related problems. 

Drink Alkaline Water: Alkaline water contains an alkali metal (a solution with pH of more than 7) which keeps the body hydrated and prevents it from generating unnecessary gas. Drink a lot of water to keep acidity at bay. 

Break a Sweat: Exercising helps maintain weight and it also helps keep acidity in check. Weight and stress are two major factors leading to acidity. So, keeping them in control is necessary to maintain good health.
