One should consume fruits regularly whether in fresh form or dried form. Though fresh fruits are always placed above dried fruits due to their high nutritive value.

Fruits are healthy for you and body in whichever form they are. Either consumed fresh or in the dried/dehydrated version, they are extremely beneficial for your health. Consuming fresh fruits is always better than their dehydrated version, but all of them are loaded with vital nutrients. One should eat fruits on a regular basis to get essential vitamins & minerals in either form, whichever is accessible. But here we will discuss which one is better: Dried fruits or fresh fruits.

1. Vitamins

Fresh fruits are extremely important for your health as they prevent dehydration in the body and are rich in vitamins A, B and C. Dried fruits lack in water content and sometimes heat-sensitive vitamins also get eliminated from them. Therefore, fresh fruits are better as they preserve all the vitamins.

Fresh fruits are rich in hydration and the water content is better in them. Dried fruits, on the other hand, are dehydrated by keeping under the sun. This reduces their size and increases its shelf life.

Talking about the glucose quantity in both, dried fruits are said to have high sugar content as compared to fresh fruits. Most of the time, refined sugar is added to dried fruits. People who wish to cut down on sugar should avoid the consumption of dried fruits.

4. Nutrient density

Talking about the nutrient content, nutritive value is higher in fresh fruits. Fresh fruits are raw with all the nutrients are intact. Dried fruits are treated with heat to extract their water content which sometimes reduces the nutrients in them. Eat fresh fruits daily to stay loaded with nutrients.

Dried fruits or Fresh fruits?

Undoubtedly, fresh fruits are far better than dried fruits as per the comparison is done above. It is not that dried fruits are bad but fresh fruits are better. Dried & dehydrated fruits are good to munch when you cannot access fresh fruits but always prefer fresh fruits. Your body does need some essential vitamins & minerals which can be fulfilled upon regular consumption of fresh fruits. A lot of health experts suggest eating fresh fruits over dried fruits for obvious reasons.
