Sunscreen Spray For Hair And Scalp: Benefits And Natural Fixes

You need sunscreen. Whether the sun is out or not. We have heard this many a times. It also holds true for your hair. Your hair exposed to the same amount of the radiation and heat. It is also just as delicate as your skin.

All of us yearn for healthy, strong and luscious hair strands but achieving them is quite a task. Our hair undergoes damage almost every single day of our lives in some or the other way. The intense pollution, styling, stress, unhealthy eating habits and of course the sun leave our tresses distressed making them rough, dry and brittle.

Just like the skin, our hair too needs protection from the external environment, especially from the sun. The harsh rays of the sun directly strength of the sun by fading the proteins and the building factor of the hair. This necessitates the fact that the hair must be protected satisfactorily to ensure that they are protected from the damage.

With the rising awareness amongst the people for their hair care and adequate protection, many brands are coming up with hair sunscreens.

Coconut Milk and Lavender Essential Oil

The Coconut milk is naturally rich in Vitamin B and Fatty Acids that reinstate the lost moisture content in the hair strands. It replenishes the hair follicles by working like building blocks of proteins. Whereas, Lavender Essential Oil seamlessly nourishes the scalp while ensuring healthy skin. It even has antibacterial and antimicrobial properties which are an added advantage to that of ensuring healthy hair.

METHOD

Take both of these natural ingredients into a container and mix them well. Apply this mixture on your hair generously and let it stay on a while. Wash off your hair after half an hour with a sulfate-free shampoo.

Aloe Vera Gel

The naturally extracted aloe vera gel truly has numerous benefits for the hair and one of them being shielding the strands from the effects of the harmful sun rays. It soothes the strands while making them shiny. It even nourishes and moistures the scalp while encouraging regrowth of hair.

METHOD

Get your hands on an aloe vera leaf and extracts some aloe vera gel. Apply it on your hair scalp and your hair strands properly. Wash it off after 20-25 minutes till your hair absorb its goodness. You can wash it off later.

Lemon, Egg, and Tree Tea Essential Oil

The combination of all the three ingredients has a rich content of protein and vitamins for the nourishment of the hair follicles. The tea tree oil has special benefits of shielding the hair while the other two ingredients essentially work on improving the condition of the hair.  Eggs have always been known to tame frizz and Lemon is power-packed with Vitamin C to avert hair damage.

METHOD

Combine all the three ingredients in a container to make a smooth paste. Then apply it on the entire length of the hair strands. Let it stay on your hair for about 40 minutes and then wash it off.

  • Hair Sunscreen should be made an innate part of the hair care routine. Just like one applies sunscreen on the skin, one should even apply sun protection on hair for the indelible good health of the hair.
