A protein shake is an important item for those who do gymming every day. While a lot of people take protein powders, these are not actually healthy! Therefore, we suggest you make your own protein shake at home. These don’t require much effort but are supremely nutritious. Here are two protein shake recipes that you can try:
Almond and coconut protein shake
This protein shake is the easiest protein shake that you can make at home. With minimal ingredients, you can create a protein shake with maximal taste and benefits.
Ingredients: dried coconut, soaked almonds and milk.
How To Make: Remove the skin from the soaked almonds and blend them with coconut. Now, add milk and one cup of water to the mixture and blend again. You may add honey to sweeten the shake. Sprinkle some cinnamon powder on it and your homemade coconut and almond protein shake is ready to drink.
Banana and peanut butter shake
Ingredients: bananas, two tablespoons of peanut butter, two cups of Greek yogurt, 100 ml full-fat milk and chia seeds.
How to make: In a blender, add all the ingredients except milk and blend them. Now add milk and blend again. You may also add cocoa powder to give a chocolaty flavor to this delicious shake.
You can drink it as a post-workout drink or when you feel the need to increase your protein intake.
Homemade protein bar
Sometimes we feel fatigued in the middle of the day and need something to bring back the lost energy. A protein bar is the solution. Keep them in your bag and you can munch them anytime anywhere. Also, why not make them at home! You can get them from the market though but homemade is always better. Here are two methods of making a protein bar at home:
Cinnamon protein bar
Cinnamon is a great ingredient for weight loss which is why people who are on a weight loss diet can get benefited from this protein bar.
What do you need: one cup roasted oats, cinnamon powder, vanilla protein powder, almond butter, coconut oil and honey.
How to make: Blend all the ingredients together to form a smooth paste. Pour this mixture in a tray and put it in a refrigerator for about 3-4 hours until it sets completely. If you want a salty taste, you may sprinkle some sea salt on them.
Almond protein bar
What do you need: one and a half cup of powdered almonds, dates, honey, and sesame seeds.
How to make: In a bowl, combine all the ingredients and mix them well. Now pour this mixture in a baking tray and spread evenly. In a preheated oven, bake this mixture for about 20-25 minutes. After it is cooked completely, let the mixture cool down. Cut them into pieces.
You can consume these anytime.
